The Forensic League, with Prof. Voltaire Jacinto as lecturer, and the Council of Speakers as facilitators conducted its Debate Training and Workshop last Friday, August 9, 2013 at Quezon Hall Room 107, West Visayas State University.

Parliamentarians attended the said activity, listened to the Preliminary Debate lecture and engaged in various activities like Just-a-minute, a one minute extemporaneous speaking involving simple topics; speed reading, where the parliamentarians read an article on screen as fast as they can and beat the fastest reader; defining abstract and direct motions; and a sparring debate teamed up with FL President, Nestor Jeremy Moreno for the government side, and Paolo Nazareno in the opposition side.

The Asian Parliamentary Debate Training and Workshop is the first of the series of lectures the FL will be conducting exclusively to its members to further enhance and nurture their skills as parliamentarians.
